Breaking a sweat from scrubbing your burnt pots or pans? Well do so no more. I have a few solutions which banish the elbow grease, and leave your pots and pans almost like new. I will leave the best until last, but my first solution is to use a…
Dishwasher Tablet or Denture Tablet: Layer your pot or pan with hot water > Drop in a dishwasher tablet and leave to dissolve & soak > Scrub clean
Pro: Convenient if you have some of these laying around
Con: Least effective methods for stubborn marks
Salt: Add a layer of hot water to the pan > Sprinkle pan with salt > Leave to soak for ten mins > Scrub clean
Pro: Good for cleaning cast iron- but hold the water and use a wire brush
Con: Do not use on nonstick pans!
Vinegar & Baking Soda: Simply fill your burnt pan with a layer of water > Add one cup of vinegar > Bring to the boil > Remove pan from heat and add baking soda > Once cool enough scrub clean
Pro: Likely to have ingredients handy
Con: Doesn’t work on very stubborn marks
Soda Crystals : Mix a cup of soda crystals with a few drops of water to make a paste > Leave to soak > Scrub clean
Pro: Very cheap to make
Con: Have to leave to soak
Oven Cleaner: Using gloves, cover cookware with oven cleaner > Place in a heavy duty bin bag > Seal & make as air tight as possible > Leave for several hours to soak > Scrub clean
Pro: Good result
Con: Harsh chemicals used
Last but not least, my personal favourite solution is…
The Pink Stuff!
So, what is “The Pink Stuff?” Made by Starbrands (makers of Stardrops products), it has 99% natural ingredients, is environmentally non-toxic and has a non hazardous formulation. They claim it is “The Miracle Cleaning Paste,” – so let’s test this out!I would recommend using the softer side of the sponge so you do not scratch your pans.
So how do you use it?
Using the soft side of a sponge, rub on some of the paste on to the burnt marks. You really do not need to use the harsher side of the sponge- just gently rubbing the paste into the mark gives effortless results! Once all your stains have gone, rinse under the tap, and as simple as that, your stains will be gone, and your pans looking almost as new! Look below at the fab results. Also check out the video for proof on how effortless this paste really is!!!
I have to mention here that I was gifted The Pink Stuff and other products from Starbrands. This has not biased my writing and I have given my honest opinion. Test it out for yourself, you will be as surprised by the results as I was- I’m sure! Details on where to purchase can be found here.
