Magic it Away: How to Remove Rust

In the past when I had seen that rust had taken over my bathroom bin or shower caddy, I would have thrown the item away. If only I had known that there is a way to remove it! From researching how to remove rust there seems to be a lot of pros and cons to each method, whether you have to soak the item overnight (as with white vinegar) or you have to use highly abrasive methods using wire scourers (as with baking soda). My favourite solution to this problem is to use The Pink Stuff, the miracle cleaning paste!

It really is worth having a tub of this in your cleaning caddy, it has so many versatile uses! Details of where to purchase canoe found here.

Once you have your pink stuff to hand, grab a cleaning brush (a toothbrush will do)! or sponge, and you are good to go. The paste is slightly abrasive so it should be used with care- it may scratch surfaces! So please test on an inconspicuous area first.  With a very little of the paste, as a little goes a long way, rub away the rust with your cleaning tool. Once rust is removed rinse off the paste and polish with a clean dry cloth- I like to use a glass cloth. Your previously rusty item should now be sparkly clean and almost like new again! Check out my results below:

Well there you go, a magical easy way to remove rust! It really is effortless. So go and save your rusty items and try out this paste. Let me know how you get on 🙂 or if you find any other good ways to remove rust, I want to know!
