Washing Machine Drawer Cleaning

It’s surprising how quickly mould and mildew can form in your washing machine drawer. I often freshen up my machine with a bit of disinfectant or a tiny bit of bleach by putting it through an empty hot wash. Despite this, it doesn’t keep the drawer in tip top condition. If you go and pull it out you may be suprised at what is lurking at the back! However don’t despair, with a mould and mildew remover it is so easy to clean!

What you will need:

A mould and mildew remover & an old toothbrush

Method:

Pull out your drawer and place in your sink or washing up bowl, simply spray with a mould and mildew remover and leave for time directed. I also spray it into where you insert the drawer, and again leave for time directed.

When you return you will probably find that a lot has disappeared already! For any stubborn bits I like to use an old tooth brush. Once removed rinse the drawer. For inside the machine I like to spray with water to rinse and it also helps to drain away any mould residue. Once you have put your drawer back in, I recommend a rinse wash to ensure all the product is washed away. You wouldn’t want any bleach marks on your clothes!

There you go, a nice clean washing machine drawer! Please feel free to comment with your cleaning tips or join in on my insta (link below).
